It started with a move. When our founder relocated to a new part of Nigeria, she noticed something that most people walk past every day — nobody was selling glasses. Not properly. Not with any real care for quality or variety. And yet glasses are something everybody needs. The eyes, as she puts it, are the windows to the soul. So why was nobody paying attention to how we frame them?
She had been a self-described “glass girl” since her undergraduate days. Long before it was a business, eyewear was simply something she loved — the way a good frame changes a face, adds an edge to an outfit, or says something about a person before they even speak. That personal history made the gap she spotted feel less like a market opportunity and more like a calling.

In 2019, The Cuttcost Brand was born. The name was intentional. “Cuttcost” does not mean cheap — it means fair. It means we will not inflate a price to manufacture prestige. It means quality eyewear priced for the people actually buying it, not for the image a brand is trying to sell.
Today, The Cuttcost Brand operates out of Lagos and ships across Nigeria. Our collection spans premium acetate sunglasses, tinted frames, rimless styles, and blue light blocking glasses for the growing number of Nigerians spending long hours in front of screens. Every frame is chosen with the same eye that started this — personal, deliberate, and uncompromising on quality.
